At Los Felices, we want to celebrate Carrie Bradshaw’s legacy by diving into her fashion universe with a recap of some of her most iconic looks—and how you can recreate her style with pieces from Tots a la Taula, the traveling upcycling fashion project with vintage designer gems, led by it-girls María Carreté and Ana Fort. Stop by our boutique, explore the full archive of amazing pieces, and discover how to dress like the real Carrie.

CARRIE BRADSHAW: The Final Farewell to the Millennial Generation’s Fashion Icon

When Sex and the City took its final bow in 2004, I felt like a part of me ended with it. Then came the movies—one easier to digest than the other—and that so-called sequel I’d rather forget (because let’s be honest, who really needed that train wreck called And Just Like That?). But Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York didn’t need another chance. They were already eternal.

I wanted to be like Carrie. I wanted to use the oven as a shoe rack and eat cereal in front of my computer while writing about the disasters of my love life. I wanted to go on surreal dates and laugh about them later with my friends, Cosmopolitan in hand, turning every drama into a column that felt like it was written for all of us. And, most of all, I wanted to dress like her: tutus on Broadway, old hookup t-shirts paired with heels, and those impossible dresses by Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta, or Vivienne Westwood that on her seemed heaven-sent. I wanted a Fendi baguette in every shape and color and, of course, my Manolos. Because if we learned anything, it’s that the iconic Manolos designed by Manolo Blahnik went from being “just shoes” to cult objects thanks to Carrie. She wore them with everything: jeans, dresses, tulle skirts—even pajamas. And suddenly, I couldn’t imagine leaving home without my Manolos either, even if mine were a cheaper Zara version.

And then I couldn’t help but wonder: what makes Carrie such a magnetic character? Maybe it’s that she’s perfect in her imperfection. Relatable and over-the-top, brilliant and chaotic, loyal and a little selfish, funny and dramatic, and absolutely fabulous. We loved her and hated her in equal measure, but we always saw ourselves reflected in her. Because sometimes all you really need is your girlfriends after a Mr. Big or a Jack Berger, and sometimes a new pair of shoes to lift you a few inches above the drama is better therapy than any psychoanalysis.

Carrie Bradshaw taught us that being single isn’t a sentence, it’s an adventure. That friendship can be the greatest love story of your life. That fashion is a language—even when you speak it in tulle and sequins. And that yes, sometimes what we truly need isn’t “the one,” but a killer pair of heels to step confidently onto the stage of our lives.

So even though television chose to squeeze the story dry, I’ll always keep the Carrie who walked through Manhattan in her Manolos, Cosmopolitan in hand, with the certainty that she could turn any romantic disaster into a brilliant piece of writing. Carrie Bradshaw may have said goodbye on screen, but in our hearts—and in our closets—she will forever be in style.
