CREATING OBJECTS THAT CARRY MEMORIES
Inside the fluid, body-inspired universe of Milko Boyarov

There’s something deeply tactile and almost otherworldly about the work of Milko Boyarov. His jewelry exists somewhere between sculpture and ornament, blending organic textures, fluid forms and contemporary craftsmanship into pieces that feel both futuristic and strangely intimate.
As one of the creatives involved in Los Felices Ibiza, Milko is also part of the hotel’s growing fashion universe, with one of the rooms dedicated entirely to his aesthetic world and creative language.
We spoke with him about the emotional power of jewelry, bodily inspiration, craftsmanship and why objects worn on the skin can become carriers of memory.
Your relationship with jewelry started very early. What first drew you into that world?
My first approach to jewelry goes all the way back to high school, where I studied metal craftsmanship and took a course focused specifically on jewelry. I immediately fell in love with the idea of creating objects that exist in such close relationship to the body.
What fascinated me most was the emotional aspect of it — the idea that jewelry can hold memories, meanings and personal stories in such an intimate way.
Your work feels both contemporary and timeless at once. Where does your visual universe come from?
A lot of my inspiration comes from the underwater world, from the body itself and from the textures and viscous qualities of bodily fluids. But honestly, my references are constantly shifting. Inspiration rarely comes from one single place. It evolves naturally depending on what I’m observing, feeling or experimenting with at the time.
Your pieces have a very sculptural quality. Can you walk us through your creative process?
It usually starts with a sketch or an initial drawing. From there, I continue developing the idea visually before moving into wax experimentation.
I spend a lot of time molding and shaping wax directly over and around the body, which gives the pieces a more organic and physical quality. I like developing most of the prototypes myself before collaborating with different jewelry manufacturers to bring them fully into production.
Do you think our relationship with jewelry has changed over time?
I think today there’s definitely more appreciation for craftsmanship and handmade processes, but personally I value both worlds equally. I love combining traditional techniques with finishes that almost look untouched by human hands — even though there’s actually an enormous amount of manual work behind them. That contrast really interests me.
Los Felices is a place where fashion and hospitality merge together. What was your impression of the project?
What I love most is the idea that every room is connected to a different designer and creative universe. Guests don’t just stay in a hotel room — they create memories inside someone’s aesthetic world. I find that really special. There’s something beautiful about connecting experiences, emotions and places to a specific creative identity. I also really liked the concept of the fashion rental space inside the hotel. I think it adds another layer to the experience, although I’d personally love to see an even wider selection in the future.
