Angel Nokonoko

Born in 1980 on the island of Ibiza and of African and Portuguese descent, Nokonoko went to London to learn from the best in order to turn his dream into his job. After attending Saint Martin’s - the school of Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen - he spent a year in Paris working for John Galliano at Dior, where he learned how to develop ideas from a concept. The Ibiza native developed fabrics and created designs, even for the brand's Haute Couture line. The experience was highly enriching, but he also encountered an excessively competitive environment that clashed with his perspective on his profession.

Always with the idea of starting his own brand, the designer traveled to London in 2003, where he founded the label Rococó with a friend. For four years, he worked as a head designer for men's collections and began traveling regularly to Japan, where he made very interesting contacts for his next venture: Nok Nok.

Focused on denim, with punk-rock and streetwear inspiration, along with a touch of the 70s, Nok Nok is his personal endeavor, featuring powerful distributors like Barneys.

Nokonoko also works as a freelancer for other brands such as Tommy Hilfiger or Inditex, under his label Nok Nok Lab.
